An Empty Room

we walk on the same road at the same direction
towed and side by side but never hand in hand.
here where we stand along with all that bothers me,
i ask myself why i had to fall for one such as you.

in these spinning days, i dance alone in a silent song
the same one i hear when i see your smile,
or as when my imaginings form your face in a dream.
whether real or not, this question the night retains.

be strong and wise, i desperately tell myself
but this simply won’t go away nor fade with the hours.
such is that digs deeper with fingers of its own,
into my already unwilling heart and burned out mind.

no way to reach out when your hands are already held,
still my heart is filled with the tragedy of wanting you.
could i keep my distance from this spurious thing?
where only in my mind would bear witness of you in my arms.

there, as a look into your eyes, i would falter
to keep this secret behind my furtive laughs.
for at night when all my world has closed their eyes,
i alone fell in love with you in an empty room.

Innuendos of Criticism

Being the humans that we are, we all have flaws. No matter how much some of us might deny it, our characters are littered with shortcomings – some more outstanding than others. It is quite okay to point them out in the hopes of mitigating them, but there is always the right time, venue and way to do it. It’s a wonder though, that there are still some of us that do not understand or at least employ this idea. Isn’t this a standard part in educated human interaction? Criticism is simply not part of those human attributes that we are good at expressing or delivering. In itself, criticism is a neutral thing. Take way aspects of ulterior motives, emotional implications and improper interaction: pointing someone’s flaws is a vital part of our daily lives. The Certain Uncertainty

Life is full of twists and turns, with too much change and too little permanence, and too unpredictable. Just when you thought you’ve figured it all out, the world turns upside down. Just when you’ve readied yourself for changes about to come, it settles down and quiets itself. It makes planning your life both skill and luck. What makes living in this world quite interesting is that even if you don’t have any choice where and how you start out, you’ll never be quite sure where you’ll end up.
